I'm going to switch up the calendar of events a bit. Since there are lots of places to find what's going on in Garrett County, I am going to list the schedule of events for the Barn at Ridgeview Valley.
"Big River - The Story of Huckleberry Finn" - performed by Theatre on the Lake will be performed July 30 & 31, August 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, & 8. Theatre on the Lake, a non-profit corporation, is Garrett County's professional theatre under the direction of Lynn Broderick comprising actors and technicians from Garrett and Preston counties. Audience members will experience Mark Twain's wonderful story amidst the rustic timbers and flooring of the old barn. With music and lyrics by singer/song writer Roger Miller, it promises to be a production the entire family will not want to miss. August 15 - Barber shop Chorus concert provided by Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church invites the community to enjoy a free concert performed by the Chorus of the Potomac. Bring lawn chairs or blankets. The men's barbershop harmony group comprises the Allegany County Chapter, Mid-Atlantic Division of the Barbershop Harmony Society. Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church recently celebrated is 5th year. It is the first mission congregation of the Western Maryland-West Virginia Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America since the merger of the ELCA in 1987.
August 29, 6:00pm- Ridgeview Valley's Bluegrass Benefit for TAY - serving Garrett County youth. Join us for an evening of old fashion bluegrass music provided by Jim 'n I. Food vendors, Jearbryo's and Lakeside Creamery will by open at 6:00pm and music starts at 7:00. Tickets are $10.00 for adults, $5.00 students 13 - 21 and children under 12 are free. Bring a chair or blanket and sit out under the beautiful Garrett County skies, enjoy the music and help our youth of Garrett County. Come early and let the kids play on the playground or just take a hike on the trail. The purpose of TAY is to provide Garrett County youth with meaningful experiences in self discovery and growth using adventure sport activities.
September 19, 6-10pm - Garrett Mentor's First Fundraiser - Barn Dance & BBQ. All proceeds help Garrett County children. Tickets are $25.00 in advance and $30.00 at the door and includes a plate of yummy Arhie's BBQ. Mucis by Johnny Moore, celebrity bartenders & silent auction. Garrett Mentors, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization which provides a school-based mentoring program that encourages caring adults to me mentors to children in Garrett County Elementary Schools.
